The principal object of the society will be to promote the interests of all its Members, present in the states/UTs of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to attain their social and economic betterment through self-help and mutual aid in accordance with the cooperative principles.

Viruthai Millets Farmer Producer Company Limited ([VMFPCL ] started its journey in the year 2016 with the support of TNSFAC under the guidance of the Research Institution [RI] SEEDs. In the year 2020, the FPCL has moved into the next stage of promoting FPOs in Tamilnadu and empanelled with SFAC as a Cluster Based Business Organization [CBBO] to hand hold to the FPOs. Further It has promoted 37 FPOs in Tamilnadu with the support of different Implementing Agency namely, TNSFAC, NAFED, SFAC and NCDC in the year 2021 onwards and strengthen the FPOs for long term. Then the FPCL has initiated to integrated the FPOs into Consortium and formed Indian Farmers Agri Business Consortium [ IFAC ] to develop the Business activities. After that the FPCL has an idea of expanding its Business in large scale, for that it thought to register in Multi State Cooperative Society Law at Central Cooperative Department of Central Cooperative Ministry and formed Farmer Consumer Society Limited [FACOS] under the Multi State Cooperative law.
